For our students to gain conceptual understanding of the new Math Standards, a shift in mindsets needs to take place. In this session teachers will explore the benefits of looking at math through a growth mindset vs. a fixed mindset. A key element is looking at mistakes and mathematical struggles as a way to approach mathematics. Mathematically rich tasks will be used to illustrate how you can transform your classroom into a place where curiosity about math is piqued, and negative math thinking is replaced with a positive, fun message.
